Doing Business Report 2020
September 30, 2019
The World Bank released the Doing Business 2020 Report last week, a forward-looking report which compares and measures business competitiveness across 190 countries. The report ranked the ease of doing business in these economies by investigating the regulations that enhance business activity and those that constrain it.
Ghana was ranked 118 with a score of 60 dropping four places from last year's ranking. The report attributed the drop in the county's score to the complication in paying taxes and the conversion of GETFund and NHIL levies to straight taxes increasing the tax burden on business.
