N. Dowuona & Company advised on Project Shiprite, a US$137 million project for the construction, maintenance and operation of a world-class ship and rig repair facility at Takoradi Harbour.
The project, developed under a 25-year concession granted by the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, represents the first privately funded and operated floating dry dock in West Africa.
Led by Akosua Achiaa Akobour Debrah, our team advised on the structuring, financing and regulatory aspects of the project, including support on the concession framework, equity and loan documentation, EPC and O&M contracts, shipbuilding and tow arrangements, lease and security agreements, and transaction advisory services through equity completion and financial close.
The transaction highlights the role of long-term private capital, bankable concession structures and robust legal frameworks in delivering strategic infrastructure assets.
